We've just returned from our 19-day holiday in Sri Lanka, a country unknown to many. And there's someone who made our experience truly complete: our driver-guide, Fernando, who accompanied us until the very last day. We couldn't have chosen a better host! He showed us the most authentic Sri Lanka, with its rich culture, customs, and traditions. He took us to visit temples of different religions, the lush, verdant tea plantations, the rainforests, the golden beaches… all with insightful explanations and interesting facts that made our visit even more enjoyable. We were able to sample the typical dishes of this island nation, which smells of cinnamon and spices. He also arranged a fantastic safari for us in the National Park, bought our tickets for the famous Ella train, a boat trip for snorkeling in Trincomalee, and was always available for anything we needed. And he even invited us to dinner at his home so we could meet his family. So Fernando isn't just helpful, responsible, punctual, attentive, friendly, efficient, and respectful... Fernando has become a friend. Don't hesitate to contact him if you decide to visit this island.

The car is comfortable with strong AC and functioning smoothly no issues at all. Sumedha is a very good driver even in the dark of night we were safe and comfortable.
Sumedha has the inside intel for a lot of the trips (safaris, whale watching) and we never felt we were getting the short end of the stick. Prices were fair for everything and the food spots he picked for us were amazing. Sri Lankan food is just wonderful and the seasonal fruits are a must to enjoy along with fresh coconut water to keep you well hydrated.
You should definitely book a car with him and I know when we return we would do so in a heartbeat!
we saw everything we hoped to see - purple herons, massive water monitor lizards, all kinds of kingfishers, bitternes, lapwings, egrets, cormorants, Indian darters, bee eaters, parrots.. and more! we even saw a young crocodile! Most of all the unspoiled, protected and very special mangrove wetlands were stunningly beautiful. We saw the local fisherman out on the water and our guide explained about the local ecosystem and communities living there.
Fernando was extremely knowledgeable snd great to talk to, full of insights andfunny stories. Fernando is a very experienced guide offering tours throughout Sri Lanka.
Fernando picked us up from our hotel to drive us to the wetlands. He arranged a guide from the wetlands centre who was very skilled at spotting birds and wildlife, and a very comfortable boat.
we caught the impressive and very lively fish market on the drive up there and saw many of the beautiful local churches..
it was such good value!
if only it wasn't our last day in Sri Lanka we would have certainly booked more tours with Fernando who was just BRILLIANT!
